Why new testament?
Why do we have new and old testament?
Does it not seem like living in the old was better?
Now, all we do is take the grace of the new testament for granted.
If at an offence you have a high probability of being struck dead by God (through a plague or earthquake or fire or hailstorm - you get the idea), i bet most of us will be more careful. I bet most of us will not claim to be so powerless against the temptations.
I bet no one will claim to be made with the desire to eat another person or lie with his own kind... Because you know if you do it, even if you don't get punished your children are likely to suffer from your actions. And if you do get punish, your children might still take part of the punishment.
Yes, most people will live in fear, but i bet everyone living in fear is better than the moral decadence i see all around us now...
What we call pure evil in the past has become the norm...
I know God is merciful, like jonah, sometimes i feel like saying : "no,i don't want to warn them... They've been warned, let them continue... Let them suffer the coming wrath... Maybe then they will know i am right"...
So rather than pray, or be persistent ... I say "go on with your life, we'll see who is right in the end... ".
I realise that in the end... I too am guilty of my accusations of others... I too fall short in so many ways... And looking at myself deeply, compared to the standard set by Christ himself (not any man and especially not any apostle)... I see my wrong!
Therefore i will soak myself in the mercy, and the grace of God... I will learn to examine myself... And make amends.
This seems like random mussing, yes... It sort of is...
#come #Lord #come.
